Is Lake Chapala Gay Friendly ?
Well first we should determine just what we mean by “Gay Friendly”.
If you mean by this phrase… there are openly Gay bars and a wild nightclub scene. Then the answer is No. These exist in nearby Guadalajara (under an hour drive), but not at Lake Chapala.
But, if you mean by “Gay Friendly” an accepting attitude of all types of people from all walks of life without discrimination then then the answer is a definite YES.
You see our beautiful area, because of it’s wonderful weather, low prices, and accepting friendly native people (Gay and Straight) has attracted people from all over the world including many gay people.
Because most folks here “think out of the box” or they would not be here in the first place … they are much more accepting of alternative lifestyles… and the Mexican culture has a live and let live attitude toward alternative lifestyles as well.
