Hi Melisa, Thanks for your compassionate post. Yes, we have several places similar to what you describe. Some in rural settings and some right in Chapala like the "Love in Action" folks.

I'll keep my eyes and ears open for a place like you describe. The North Americans here have big hearts, but the need is also very large.

If your organization can get started pr is already started with some form of certification from the Mexican Government and has some headquarters with a telephone and or an internet connection (even a corner of your bedroom... not necessarily in Mexico even) the next step would be to get an Internet site up.

Why all this first. Simple: You can reach millions of people this way and get your story of hope and help out to the world.

Keep me informed of your progress by e mail to Sid@ChapalaClub.com. I can help some with occasional articles about your organization on ChapalaClub.com if you can get a facility here at Lake Chapala.

If I learn anything about a possible site in our area I'll pass the information along.

You and your group are in my prayers. Siempre tu amigo, Sid

Great story, great place there in Chapala.

Recently we formed a non-profit mexican organization to help the street kids. We need a place that we can rent or buy. We hope to have only 20 kids in a casa/hogar because we want it to be a family and not an institution.

We have just been donated land in Mazatlan also. Can you help us find a place to start there in Chapala? I know that there is a boy's home and a Villa for infants nearby and a casa/hogar on Pedro Moreno, but I saw a great need and have been assured by the Mexican Government that girls who are unwed and boys over 12 still are homeless.

We have one contact person in Chapala. Victor Pelayo.

Any help that you could provide to have a donated space or a place that we could rent or a place that we could rent to buy would be fantastic. We also would like to have a place where those who want to come and donate time and labor could stay...like a house with a mother-in-law house.

Thank-you.
