Hi Karen, Thanks for your comment. Yes, the central market in Chapala is on Madero. Madero turns into the highway that goes to the airport and on to Guadalajara.

It's the main North South street in the center of Chapala.

Any of the mid sized white buses with red trim that say Chapala will likely go by the market as the bus station is only a feew blocks from the market.

You might say something like. "Favor de dejar me en el Marcardo." Reember to us the Spanish vowel sounds.

The Market is a large white building with what you and I would call a 'band stand' in front of it on the East side of the street and just a block NOrth from the pther main street in Chapala called Hidalgo which is called the Carretera outside of Chapala and it is the main East West road that parallels the Lake running from Chapala to Jocotepec at the extreme West end of the Lake.

Hope you enjoy the market. Sid

HI SID
WE JUST ARRIVED FOR THE FIRST TIME IN LAKE CHAPALA AREA. I DO NOT SPEAK SPANISH SO I WAS WONDERING IF YOU COULD TELL ME WHAT STREET THE CENTRAL MARKET IS ON AND WHAT CAN I SAY TO THE BUS DRIVER SO THAT HE WILL GET ME AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE TO THE MARKET. MAYBE I CAN WRITE IT DOWN AND HE WILL UNDERSTAND WHERE I WANT TO GET OFF.

THANKS
KAREN

Hi Kathy, What a goof plan. It's be my pleasure to let you pick my brain.

If you will need Airport pickup or tours outside the immediate Lake Chapala area let me know as my wife Arcelia can be of service. Very competitive rates.

NO need to buy lunch, but I do have a great Mom and Pop place so far all my clients have loved.

And, please take advantage of my gratis Lake Chapala area 4 hour or more get acquainted tour shing you the different neighborhoods, towns, and villages.

We can look at a few homes in different price ranges, or a lot of homes ... or none at all.

As we drive I point out landmarks and discuss the pros and cons of all the places we visit along the way to help you decide if you'd like to investigate a given area more later.

SO, best to e mail me at Sid@ChapalaClub.com to get our schedules together.

Oh, and if you need recommendations for B and B's I can provide you with a list of those my clients have consistently given high marks to and the ones they will avoid on future trips.

Thanks again, All for now. Siempre tu amigo, Sid

Hola Sid My husband and I will be in town from Feb 10-19 to scout out a rental property for a 3-4 month "test drive" this spring. Tentatively we plan to return afterward to Washington state, sell or lease our home, and relocate Lakeside.
Could we treat you to lunch and pick your brain about all things Lakeside sometime during our visit? Gracias! Kathy Beem

WOW, and Double Wow ! Such a wonderful response from all of you guys.

First, let me tell everyone that I shot the video at a wedding party for the daughter of one of Arcelias's sisters. So many of the handsome young people you saw dancing in the video were family or friends of the family.

It was a great party as you can tell from the few minutes you saw of it.

Now to the Answers you guys submitted. No one got all three of my three favorite things which are as follows:

1. The pretty ladies (including Arcelia of course)

2. The Food - Mostly made from scratch, simple but delicious, and for the most part not just good, but good for you

3. The People (polite, helpful, friendly)

Collectively of course you got them all.

So, here's what I want to do.

The first 10 of you who actually show up in person and request a copy of the Best Selling book "Living in the Now" (It went to No. 2 on Barnes and Noble) will receive a personalized autographed copy.

So, Contest Closed as of now. Thanks to each and everyone who responded.

So come claim your book, and claim a bonus of a Gratis Tour of Lake Chapala Ajijic Mexico, and still another Bonus of a personal one on one 2 hour consultation in which I will honestly and completely answer all your questions about living, working, and playing at beautiful and affordable Lake Chapala Ajijic Mexico.

All for now, Siempre tu amigo, Sid
