Among the media that will be created at the Chapala Media complex will be 3-D movies.

The initial site has several acres of land with room to expand. Currently the site has two large buildings , Just inside to the left is the glass-enclosed business center housing an audio recording studio, office space and a cutting-edge data processing center.

Across from this is the film studio annex .

The first stage of the Chapala Media Complex was funded with 40 million pesos  ( approx $3,200,000 USD) from the private sector, almost 25.8 million pesos (approximately $2,150,000 USD) from the National Council of Science and Technology and 30 million pesos ($2,400,000) by the state government.

Kaxan, a Jalisco-based firm, currently involved in the production of several feature-length animated films, and other media projects is the first business to locate at the complex..

The Chapala Media complex is easy to spot as you drive along the Libramiento (bypass) by the bright pink monolith that marks the entrance..

Morris Schwarzblat, director of Chapala’s Institute of Technology said,“This is an extraordinary milestone, not only a first step towards turning Chapala into a technology community, but a city of culture and creativity.”
