International Airport Just 20 Minutes from Lake Chapala

November 6, 2010

The  Guadalajara International airport is good airport; it's just 20 minutes  from Lake Chapala and has plenty of flights to major cities in the USA and Canada and most Mexican cities with connections to most other cities in the world.

The airport is kept clean and tidy, and as airports go is user friendly

The seating is adequate, bathrooms clean, and a lot of shops open at 6 am and employees pleasant. There;s even a Starbucks.

The airport is not large by International standards  with just one International arrival gate and one domestic arrival gate… but that makes it easy to navigate on foot.

There’s a new multi story parking garage with a well thought out parking plan and automatic bill or coin payment machines to validate the parking ticket obtained as you enter the parking area, which you then put into the machine as you drive out the exit.

Don’t worry, there are usually attendants nearby to help if the machines were to mal function.

A good tip when parking is to write the Row number  of where you parked to make it easy to find your car when returning to the parking garage after picking up your passengers in the terminal.

The Airport has gone through extensive remodeling over the last few years and no doubt as the traffic grows it will have to continue to be upgraded.

By the way we have a very competitive airport Pick up and Drop off service for ChapalaClub.com members.

It’s really nice when arriving at a strange airport where you don't speak the native language well to have someone waiting for you as you enter the lobby with a big smile and a sign with your name on it.

Your driver will be basically bilingual and will help with luggage, money exchange, and translations as needed.

Parking fees are paid by your driver. No tips expected. Just a reasonable fee based on the hour of your arrival or departur

So, if this might be of interest to you let us here from you.

Just put “Airport” in the subject line of your e mail to Sid@ChapalaClub.com

Here’s hoping you have Blue Skies from now on.
