Lake Chapala/ Ajijic Overview Video from
Here’s a nice video made a while back. In the Lake scenes you’ll notice that there are somegreen water plants growing that are now fully under control.
Don’t worry; It was done in an environmentally safe manner.
You also may notice that on some of the street in AJijic that are already a bit narrow that there are trees in the street along one side.
Here’s why.
Trees are a natural resource and belong to the people of Mexico (not unlike mineral rights)
Why? Because Mexico doesn’t have a lot of trees overall and so they protect them and hate to have to cut any of them down. You’ll see this in several Lake Chapala communities like La Floresta just East of Ajijic for example.
The Lake Chapala area is blessed with many more trees than other parts of Mexico but they’re still a protected resource. Enjoy the video!
