Lake Chapala: What Do Chili, Pretty Ladies, and Horses Have in Common?

March 16, 2011

Glad you asked. The answer is the yearly Chili Cook Off, where folks from all over descend on Ajijic, Mexico to have fun, eat chili and decide who has the best chili in the land, choose a beauty queen and watch the spectacular show of horsemanship skills on display.

This Chili Cook Off gets better each year as new groups come to join in the fun.

There’s always something cooking here at Lake Chapala and at least once a year it’s chili.

Enjoy the below video put together by my friend Ron Jackson

I’m enjoying Ron Jackson’s video slide shows of the area we’re moving to. Thank you. I look forward to more. However, for me the transitions between the slides themselves are somewhat distracting. Rather than a smooth transition from one slide to another, software gimmickry has been applied, and distracts from the wonderful and welcome photos. Their value, alone, is enough.

I become enchanted when I see the sailboats, envisioning myself on the lake. Jerry

Hi Jerry, Great comments. I completely agree with you about the fancy cuts that distract more than add to the slide show.

I’ve a lot on my plate now (new book in the works, radio interviews, complete website make over, and better quality videos to name a few) but I want to do slide shows of my own photo collection with fades and slow transitions that match the photos with music that doesn’t distract, but adds to the enjoyment of the presentation.

    Thanks again. Tu amigo, Sid

    Hi Sid,

Hope you are well. Lately your regular postings don’t seem to show any info. This is the latest on 3/19/11; “The Dangers of Living at Lake Chapala…”

    ??
    Thanks,

    Hi Joseph,

Thanks for the heads up. Not sure just what happened but I’m investigating.

Also, we’re in the process of rebuilding the site and gving it a complete makeover to make it easier to find what you’re looking for.

Thanks again. I appreciate you letting us know.

    Tu amigo, Sid
