Ballet Folclorico Performs at Lake Chapala

May 11, 2011

My Beautiful Señora and I recently celebrated 9 years of wedded bliss with a dinner out at one of our great restaurants in Ajijic, and then topped off the evening at the local auditorio for a performance of the famous Ballet Folclórico de Guadalajara which was a real bargain at just 250 pesos (about $20 USD).

The Ballet Folclórico never fails to delight us with the authentic dances, songs and music of various areas of Mexico.

The show was fast-paced, colorful and exciting; the over-one-hour show passed far too quickly for us.

The dancers are all between the ages of 17 and 25 to have the needed physical endurance to handle the demands of the strenuous dances.

I highly recommend, if you ever have the opportunity to see one of their shows, to take advantage of it.
