4 Ways to Value Homes at Lake Chapala

June 29, 2011

Value is often in the eye of the beholder. Some value the wonderful spring like year around weather we’re blessed with here at Lake Chapala. For these people a home at, or near the same price and size here would have more value than a home up North with sad and dreary weather.

For folks on a tight budget the low cost of living here at Lake Chapala would make almost any home in our area have more value than a comparable home in most of the USA or Canada

Of course, we can place a monetary value on the bricks and mortar of homes here. The same size home built here out of the same materials the same way up North would normally cost significantly more given the overall higher cost of labor in North America.

Then there’s the value added by the gentle local people and having a large enough North American English speaking community to social with.

We each place more or less value on each of the 4 factors above. If you’re not interested in having a social life for example then the presence of other North Americans would not have as much value for you.

But, even if you just take into account 3 of the 4 ways a Lake Chapala Home gives more value, I think we can conclude that Lake Chapala homes (all things considered) are bargain any way you look at it.

All for now. Let me know when I can help.
