Lake Chapala’s Feria Maestros del Arte

June 11, 2011

Here's a great video of a previous "Feria Maestros del Arte" . Enjoy this colorful video and then read the article below to learn more about the 2011 event.

I received a nice e mail from the nice folks at "Feria Mastros del Arte" and since I love art and want to help spread the word about this group and their activities I'm passing along a quite from the e mail they were nice enough to send to me.

The event is a ways off, but this will give our out of Mexico subscribers plenty of time to make plans to visit Lake Chapala and enjoy all we have to offer.
OK, Here's the quote.

"Plan to attend this year's feria (November 18th to 20th at the Chapala Yacht Club) and stick around for a few extra days. The weather is perfect in November. The sun shines everyday and the temperature hovers around 75 degrees Fahrenheit – ideal for treasure hunting at the outdoor feria and for exploring the area. Chapala's main street is lined with lovely old trees; the parish church of St. Francis presides over the busy end of town. Nearby the municipal building, housed in a famous old hotel, features a fine mural by local artist Efren Gonzalez and you'll want to stroll along the shore on the newly renovated malecon.Weekends, the malecon is crowded with Guadalajara day trippers – the town takes on a
festive atmosphere. It's colorful, busy, fun and safe.

A short bus or taxi ride away is the artistic centuries old village of Ajijic. The ambiance there is calmingly different with horses clopping along cobblestone streets, mounds of bougainvillea flowers spilling over walls, fine restaurants, picturesque B&Bs, delightful boutiques and galleries.  Lakeside (Chapala and Ajijic) is a lot like an art fair – full of unexpected treasures, color and culture. Come to Lake Chapala for the Feria Maestros del Arte and stay awhile for the fun of it.
