What My Friend Ben Wants Me to Share with You

January 18, 2012

I was recently in Philadelphia and guess who I had the opportunity to interview?
If you guessed, Ben Franklin You’d be right.
I told Ben that I was a Buyer’s Exclusive Realtor at Lake Chapala, Mexico. Of course, I had to explain to him the concept of a Buyer’s Exclusive Realtor, but being Ben Franklin he got the concept right away and told me when referring to those who would try to represent both buyer and seller without full disclosure… “Sid, a half truth is often a great lie”.
I explained to him that many of my potential clients were struggling to be able to retire and he said, “Well tell them that energy and persistence conquer all things.”
Then he added, You might also tell them that, “By failing to prepare, they are preparing to fail.” and “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.”
I told Ben that I was trying to reach out and help as many North Americans as I could to find happiness at Lake Chapala, but not everyone listened to me. He replied, “Well Sid, He that won’t be counseled can’t be helped.”
I said, “Ben what’s the best way to convince people of the truth of what I say. ” Ben replied, “ Sid … Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.” So, I look forward to telling you, teaching you and involving you in a learning process here at Lake Chapala.
Finally, I asked Ben one last question. “Ben, how can I impress on my readers the importance of acting sooner rather than later to take advantage of our slow market before it’s too late.”
He said to me, “Sid, Just tell them to never leave that till tomorrow which you can do today.”
Ben Inspired me to reach out with a servant heart as he did for so many years ago, and through his numerous quotes still does today, with which I’ve taken a little poetic license.
I did so to drive home the point to you that time waits for no man (or woman) and so I urge you to consider a check us out trip here to learn for yourself, with some wise guidance from my team and I.
I promise no half-truths will pass my lips. It will be the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help me God.
I truly want to tell you, teach you and involve you with living the good life here at safe, beautiful and affordable Lake Chapala, Mexico.
You know, Ben was a world traveler, an inventor, a scientist, and a writer among other things and I think if he lived today he would be giving serious thought to retiring at Lake Chapala himself… and he would fit right in.
I think you’ll fit right in to even if you don’t fit any of the previous categories.
If Ben were able to sum it up in one sentence I think he would say, “ You have the right under the law to pursue happiness, but you have to catch it for yourself.”

Come to Lake Chapala Mexico and catch some happiness. You can do it. I can help.
Siempre tu amigo,
