April 28, 2012

Hi Everyone, Today I want to introduce you to another new writer. John is still relatively new to our area.

So John can give you dear reader a fresh perspective to living here at safe, beautiful and affordable Lake Chapala, Mexico.

Here's a video John and I did to help you get to know him.

By the way you may enjoy John's Blog at  https://sites.google.com/site/ouradventureinchapala/

Hope you enjoy getting to know John,

    Hi Sid,

Always enjoy your articles & videos.  I was just watching your interview with John King.  Where is this taking place?  I don’t recognize the area he is sitting or the walkway & grounds behind him.  Haven’t been down there for a couple of years, but hope to again early next year.

    Thanks Joseph Q

    Hi Sid
We bought a home there in Ajijic, we just closed. We are not moving full time for another year or so. We are going to drive for our first time from Ventura, CA in Nov. with our pups.
Would you suggest 101 to the 10 to El Paso then to Guadalajara? Can you give me any ideas of where to stay with my dogs and what roads to take?
    Thank you,
    Debbie G.

    Hi Debbie

Glad you found a home to buy here. Who was your agent did he/she represent you and the buyer.

I’ve not driven either route recently you mentioned. Hope another club member can give you some recent input. Please do not drive at night and of course be prepared to show a recent vaccination for your dog.

Look forward to meeting you at some point and welcoming you to the area.

All for now, Tu amigo, Sid

     Hi Joseph,

We were sitting in the park area adjacent to the Ajijic Malecon near where Morelos dead ends into the park area.

It was late in the afternoon and it was hard to find good light so John’s handsome face is a bit shaded.

Thanks for your comment. Tu amigo, Sid

Our agent was real nice, but she was working for Dixie Nicholson from Absolut Fenix Real Estate. We had to cut ties with them because of Dixie. She was a bully and the agent with our developer was working with her also, but didn’t know it. We also got rid of him. he lied all the time, nothing got done like he said and Dixie wouldn’t do anything for us. A complete mess. Then the lawyers we got from Guad. even ripped us off by charging us 5 times more for our permit there in Ajijic. Had to make someone we didn’t know Power of Attorney to close. But then had to come out myself to close anyway. Cost us a lot of extra money. Now we are working with Lic. Luis Enrique Ramos Bustillos at Notaria Publica 2 there in Chapala. Real good people. So far so good. Nice place, trusting people. Hope to get my title in July when we come out again. Was supposed to close in Jan. LOL.  We also got ripped off by a lot of drivers there.  Wish people would speak up who own the B&B’s and not recommend these drivers and throw away there cards. Finally got one, Miramontes Brothers and family.  We learn something new and not to do every time we come there. What a shame huh? But love our home, have a lake view. Hope to meet you too. Should have met you in the first place. Live and learn.
    Debbie
