A New Lake Chapala Book Is Coming
May 12, 2012
Hi, Everyone,
I just returned from an event in Denver CO called Author U’s Extravaganza.
This was my first “Extravaganza”. A big deal, for authors of all types, since we get to learn from some of the best known, best selling author’s of all time.
OK, I hear some of you saying, “OK, Sid, Great for you, but what’s that got to do with Life at Lake Chapala?”
As many of you know I’m writing a book about our wonderful life here at Lake Chapala and I really, really want it to be not just a good book, but a great book full of practical, useful information all about living, working and playing here in our little slice of paradise.
Here’s how it will benefit you. Not only will it tell you all sorts of facts about like Chapala, but also some insider information gained from well over a decade of living here.
The ides is not to write some dry, fact-filled book with warmed over information you could gather from the internet yourself, but to pull back the curtain a bit to share how different people from Canada, the USA and all the other nationalities represented here at Lake Chapala live, work and play at various economic levels.
My goal is to make the book a fun read not just for folks new to Lake Chapala or for those searching for their dream retirement, but for the thousands of people who already live here.
Here is still, another purpose for the book. It will be, for all of you who already live here, or soon will, to have a book that you can order not just for yourself, but one to send to all those people in your life. You know the ones.
Those who think that if you live at Lake Chapala, Mexico that you must be just one-step away from the “funny farm” or worse that you’re already there.
The idea is that once they read the book they will see you in a whole new light and realize that while you may be a bit crazy, it’s of the variety people refer to as “Crazy Like a Fox!” They may even want to come join in the fun and sun we enjoy every day here.
The Extravaganza wasn’t all work and no play however, because one of our speakers just happened to have his own Rock and Roll band. He’s the lead singer in the short video clip below.
Watch for the lady with the red wig (Judith Briles) who is the author of 30 successful books and the founder of AuthorU.org, a membership organization designed for the author who wants to be seriously successful.
Even Authors let their hair down, sometimes.
