Air Conditioning at Lake Chapala Courtesy of Nature

August 31, 2013

I often surf the web for fun and profit. Being from Dallas, an internet ad about a new senior citizen type home development outside of Dallas caught my eye while surfing the web.
In addition to having all kinds of services and almost everything done for you they stated,
“Everything is connected by climate-controlled walkways, so you’ll never have to make the trek across a scorching hot parking lot. Here’s just a sample of the fabulous amenities on campus:”
Well, since they said that the homes were 98% sold they must be doing something right.
While, “climate controlled walk ways” from house to pool and from house to house no doubt is a good selling point if you have lots of money to spend on Homeowner fees and you must live in the scortchly hot Dallas summers, I think it's to be avoided.
Well, I’m from Dallas and it’s a great city, but sorry Dallas, I prefer my air conditioning by nature at Lake Chapala where the breezes off the Lake are all I need to stay comfortable all summer long and I can walk to visit my neighbors without having to walk thru “climate-controlled walkways”.
Just in case you’re wondering about our weather during the year, let this me share this link from our local weather man which gives accurate readings from Lake Chapala.
Other weather reports that may say “Lake Chapala” are in reality a look at Guadalajara weather which doesn’t take into account the “Lake Effect”.
So, you get to choose, Low cost living at Lake Chapala with one of the very best climates in the world where climate controlled walkways are not needed… or living where you need “climate controlled walkways” like the Dallas development, to go to the pool or even to visit your neighbors.
If you have 2 minutes more here's a nice video of our area.

All for now, Tu amigo, Sid
