Turn Key Living at Lake Chapala – Ajijic

February 2, 2014

Hi Everyone,
More and more of my clients are looking for properties
at under $150,000, that they can enjoy part time while waiting to retire here full time, or wind up a business
in the USA or Canada, or any number of reasons.

Or perhaps they want to just escape the extremes of weather,
but even with Skype, E mails, Magic Jack and Vonage telefone
options want to live here at Lake Chapala just part time.

This of course brings up issues like ho do they protect their property here, arrange for services to be paid, keep the garden looking at it’s best, service the pool etc.

Of course this can all be done with enough work on your part, but what if I could introduce you to a great complex where several homes are now listed for sale below $150,000
and you could just lock and go knowing that all those things you should do before leaving would all be done
for you by trustworthy folks.

Yes, it’s true, great security, great location, amenities like a club house, a pretty pool, purified water, work out
room, gardeners etc.

No need to go to Puerto Vallarta and buy into an expensive
time share that you can only visit at certain times. The place I’m talking about was developed by Canadians and has stood the test of time, is still very popular, and yet the homes there are still very reasonably priced.

Another plus is that while you’re just 5 minutes from Ajiji you escape the noise of the village which is part of village
life, but can be there in flash to enjoy the fiestas, the Lake Chapala Society activities and all Ajijc has to offer
without those parts you had just as soon escape like the noise, the barking dogs, and vendors shouting at you via loudspeakers like the gas trucks blaring their message, GAS, Gas, etc.

Here’s the listing agents description of one such home in this desireable comple:

“Stunning 2nd level condominium in Birds of Paradise. Arguably the nicest unit in the complex with upgrades all around including granite counter tops, new kitchen cabinets, and fine finishings throughout. The condo is light and airy sporting an over sized cupula in the living area and wonderful mountain views out the kitchen window and balcony off the dining room.

There is a pleasant lake view from the front patio. Furnishings (including all kitchen items, towels, and sheets) are included, all of them of the highest quality.

This is truly a very tasteful turnkey opportunity for the full or part time resident or investor. Unit is rented through April 2014.”

All for now, Tu amigo, Sid

This review is from: How to Live A Caviar Lifestyle on a Tuna Fish Pension At Safe, Beautiful & Affordable Lake Chapala, Mexico (Paperback)
My husband and I just finished our work careers yesterday and are headed off to find our new retirement home – Lake Chapala being a candidate. I have spent hours upon hours trying to get facts about the Lake Chapala area and Mexico itself since the news media is so biased in its negative reporting about Mexico. In doing my due diligence, I ran across Sid’s name on various articles and started reading his input about Lake Chapala, I thought, “this is an American who not only knows the area but has strong ties there; from his past profession in law enforcement, he is probably trust worthy so I’m going to read what he has to say with regard to the area”.

Just finished reading Sid’s book about Lake Chapala and it definitely saved me hours upon hours of research. The book was well written and addressed issues that I hadn’t even thought about. The cost of the book was peanuts compared to the time this book saved in my research.

If you are considering even visiting the Lake Chapala area, the book is worth every penny it costs – don’t leave home without it!
