Dia de Los Padres at Lake Chapala – Ajijic

June 15, 2014

Hi Everyone,

First a very special Father’s day wish to all the Fathers tuning in today. many of us have lost our fathers as we are knocking on the door of our Golden Years ourselves. The Mexican people are, as you know, VERY family oriented and rejoice in any celebration that brings the extended family together.

They celebrate “Dia de Los Padres” very much like we do in further North America. My Mexican wife and I will go to Guadalajara where her family will come from far and wide to celebrate the day.  Now since her Dad has passed away I ‘m the oldest male in the family at a mere 72 years old. So, I likely will be looked after very well. Older people here are always respected, catered to and honored.

That’s something you’ll notice when you visit us here at Lake Chapala if you’re a senior already and something to look forward to if you’re still a Baby Boomer.

But even we Seniors get to act a bit foolish from time to time here and enjoy feeling young. Easy to do here with so many things to do outdoors and such great year around spring like weather.

Now here’s a fun video I put together for you where I get in the action a bit to wish you and your’s a VERY HAPPY FATHER’S DAY (Dia de Los Padres).

Siempre Tu Amigo, Sid
