Why Lake Chapala – Ajijic Reminds Me of 1955?

October 4, 2014

Hi Everyone. Somehow, senior citizenship crept up on me. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining. After all I’m blessed to live at Lake Chapala where
Seniors are very much respected, even catered to with senior discounts on prescriptions, bus fares etc.

It’s just that I just “Don’t feel old here!” There’s so much to do, the weather is great almost all the time with mostly sunny days and temps in the 70′s.

The prices are not exactly those of 1955, but they sure are a lot less than the USA or Canada in 2014 that’s for sure.

People greet each other on the street(even when you don’t know the other person), the kids are respectful of their ‘elders’, people are almost always polite, neighbors know their neighbors, and they look after and help each other.

In a way, for me, Lake Chapala is a lot like stepping back in time to a simpler, happier, less stressful life (except we have internet and cell phones – both of which I approve of by the way.)

I think we have the best of all worlds here. Sure, the much lower cost of living is a big blessing, but that’s just one of many advantages of our lives here.

If you’d like to know more of the advantages (and the very few disadvantages)
send me an e mail, let’s chat by phone on my dime, or best of all plan a check us out visit so I can show you the area in person from the perspective of over a decade of living here.

Now enjoy this fun video filmed in 1955 in the USA from a happier, simpler time.

Siempre tu amigo, Sid
