Hi Everyone,

You can’t go wrong either way. Since most of the people who read /subscribe to  are retired or plan to retire soon, and one of the things many retirees really enjoy (Especially the ladies) or singles is dining out.

This post will  share with you the variety of Restaurants available here at Lake Chapala.

I just got my new “Chapala Directory & Regional Guide”. If I counted correctly we have 123 Restaurants plus on the North Shore. I say plus because of course not all of them advertised in the directory.

Here are the main types I identified in no particular order: Deli, Pizza, Steak, Sandwich, Bistro, Thai, Chicken, French, German, Spanish, Cajun, Burrito,  American, Taco, Japanese, Italian, & Russian. Some restaurants offer several different styles, These places tend to be more upscale.

Prices range from about $5 to $20 per meal with tax and tip. If you’re really on a budget  you can eat significantly less than even these prices by eating at Mom and Pop places (especially on the plazas at Chapala, Ajijic, San Juan Cosala, and Jocotepec).

When I visit family and friends in Texas each time I eat out there I get sticker shock at prices in all categories, but especially in eating out.  On my business trips to Florida and New York I feel even MORE overwhelmed by prices, especially restaurant food.

OH, please do not worry about your weight with all these great restaurants because with the gyms, exercise groups, and great weather you can be as active as you want and keep the extra pounds off or at least redistribute them better.

All for now, I’m hungry after all this talk about food, I think I’ll have a fresh fruit snack,

Tu amigo, Sid
