Hi Everyone,  I recently met a delightful lady at a local senior center while I was helping a film crew from Public TV out New Mexico. .

She recounted the time when she was just 18 years old and how she came to be a Playboy Centerfold. She was still a very attractive lady. Everyone has a story to tell.

We visited 3 of many senor centers.  each had great lake views, excellent staff and home cooked food. Instead of being what I expected might be a rather dreary day of seeing retirees in there last days I saw three groups of happy , active (given their ages) people enjoying their lives.

It brought back the memories of my own Mom when our family decided we could no long cope with her needs at our home  and moved her to a facility. It was a nice place, but cost about $2,000 a month (and that was over 15 years ago). It would likely cost several times that  now for just OK care.

The lower cost of labor, food, and medical care here at Lake Chapala all allow the senior citizen places here to offer much lower prices than anywhere in the USA or Canada.

And, the Mexican people are especially caring of seniors. They often have aging parents that live in their homes and we older retirees reap the benefit of that.

The two places the film crew visited  were Lakeside Care and Abbey Fields. Both places are operated by North Americans.  Both places were well run, clean, with Lake & Mountain views and both places were at capacity (about 5 Seniors each).

So if you have aging parents don’t let that hold you back from considering a move to Lake Chapala, Mexico. Come for a visit to see if it might be right for you…. And, it just might be right for your parents as well.

You likely will save a substantial amount on care.. and I almost forgot Medical care (for all ages) is a bargain here as well and the care is excellent.

In fact, a new government hospital just opened in our area just a few miles West from Ajijic.

All for now, Sid Grosvenor,

Looking after your best interests at Lake Chapala, Mexico
