    Strangest thing, Sid. It’s hard to get a perspective on the Chapala market these days since the mls website seems crashed. But maybe not? Follow your link to mls.mexico and one can sign up to be briefed when the database is back in operation. I found this a month or so ago, and got email confirmation that I’d be informed when I could search.

    Today, I did some googling again, following the old pathways. Follow your link, and one learns that the information isn’t available, though one can sign up for a briefing as it becomes available. But, click to http://www.mlsmexico.com/chapala/search/ (from an old bookmark), and by golly, all the listings seem searchable from there!

    Thought you might want to know if you hear of people who can’t be watching the market from the database. They can! Whomever is responsible for maintaining that mls website doesn’t seem to be doing too swift a job!

    Hi Steve, Thanks for your comments. I checked the new site just a few minutes ago and it seems to be working fine now, but no doubt is not completely finished.

    The site may not be complete yet, because I’m on the waiting list too and have not been updated yet.

    I just updated the link on my Homes and Lots Page and it will now take visitors to the new MLS website

    We live in Mississippi and wondered what route we would go by AIR, probably ending in Guadalajara, right?  Any idea how long the flights would be, as we are comparing flying to Mexico versus flying to Ecuador.  Any suggestions/comments would be appreciated.

     Hi Fran,

    Good to hear from from someone from Mississippi. You have a beautiful State. You can fly out of Jackson MS on either American or Delta with connections at DFW
    (Dallas – Ft. Worth).

    You should shop on line for the best rates for round trip airfare. You will need a valid passport. The airfare prices usually include your tourist visa. You can
    change US money for Mexican money at the Guadalajara Airport.

    The taxi ride from the airport to Lake Chapala is about $40 USD for 2 persons.
    The taxi’s are safe and well regulated.
