Dancing with the Stars at Lake Chapala – Ajijic, Mexico

May 7, 2010

I recently received an e mail from Carol Stern who lives here at Lake Chapala. Carol reminded me of a statement I made in an article I wrote on a trip to Argentina published here at www.ChapalaClub.com back in 2008. Carol states  “you had said the following……… "I’m waiting for someone to start a Tango Club. I would love to learn to tango (you know it takes two). There are Tango Clubs in Guadalajara I understand, but I stay so busy right here at Lake Chapala that I guess I will wait until one gets started here." Sid, I would like to inform you (and your newsletter readers) that we indeed have a small but dedicated Argentine Tango interest right here at Lake Chapala! Fairly new on the horizon, we are looking to attract enthusiastic people and fans of tango, who appreciate and would love to learn this passionate art-form…. An upcoming milonga is scheduled May 29……..  it would be a welcome opportunity for people in our community to come out …enjoy the music, take a preliminary class, see some wonderful crowd-pleasing exhibitions and socialize …" So Everyone Here's Your chance to "Dance with the Stars" right here at Lake Chapala Ajijic, Mexico. Now, here's the contact information: TANGO ARGENTINO Lessons Chapala – Ajijic Hidalgo #244 – Int. 3 Riberas del Pilar. Chapala, Jal. Cell:  (044) 33 1299 9904 FRANCISCO josefrancisco_r@hotmail.com So, you see Dreams really do come true here at Lake Chapala Ajijic Mexico. I’m putting May 29th on my calendar now. How about you? Once Arcelia and I get to be advanced amateurs I’d love to return to Argintina and hook up again with the dancers we interacted with on our trip back in 2008. In case you missed the article back in 2008 here’s a purely fictional clip I put together from photos of that trip.

An update on the “Mormon Folk” in the Chapala/Ajijic area. The new Bishop is Mr. Wyzell (Bishop Smith has been gone for about 5 years) Bishop Wyzell’s number is 376-766-1532. The number you gave me belongs to another lady. Apparently they continue to publish Bishop Smith’s number as hers even tho they have tried to get it changed. (Must be Mexico :)) Anyway for anyone interested there it is.
